What This Instrument Is

Signal Survey Kit is radioman: a self-contained Wi-Fi audit console built on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W (or Pi 5), with an e-ink display and optional battery pack so it can run as a standalone field appliance rather than a laptop tethered to a USB adapter. It pairs passive wireless recon with a local, on-device AI assistant and a web dashboard, and keeps a clearly separated, opt-in mode for authorized active testing.

Capabilities

  • Passive Wi-Fi scanning (via bettercap) — discovers APs and associated clients
  • Handshake capture — PMKID and EAPOL, saved as .pcapng with dashboard download
  • Auto-crack queue — hashcat (PMKID) + aircrack-ng (EAPOL) against a wordlist
  • Network graph of AP↔client relationships, plus passive/on-demand LAN host discovery
  • Local AI assistant (on-device LLM, no internet) for chat and network analysis
  • Web dashboard with capture downloads and a "tamagotchi" mood display on the e-ink screen

Safety & Scope Controls

Active capabilities (targeted deauth, rogue-AP/evil-twin) ship off by default and only unlock against targets explicitly placed in scope. Every target needs an authorization reference, and every allow/deny decision and action is written to an audit trail — the same scope-discipline this site tries to document everywhere else.
